      Textile and Clothing Industries Office

      Description of Tasks

      1. Formulating and proposing proper customs tariffs on a periodical basis in order to make domestic production competitive and provide reasonable support for domestic products;

      2. Follow-up on and implementation of industrial reconstruction and renovation projects and providing relevant solutions, suggestions and instructions;

      3. Cooperation and contribution to the formulation and presentation of general regulations for export and import of commodities, participating in the formulation of necessary regulations in order to examine industrial contracts with foreign countries, and suggesting bills and bylaws if necessary;

      4.    Motivating and encouraging relevant specialized organs and cooperation in the formulation of supportive plans and policies for the industry and taking advantage of their viewpoints in this regard;

      5.    Analysis of statistics and data of related industries and reporting them to relevant authorities;

      6. Offering necessary proposals in order to provide suitable ground for the development of research and applied activities along with necessary surveys and studies in order to boost the competitive capacity of production in related industries;

      7.    Participating in studying and identifying regulations and laws that do not meet the requirements of competition and also proposing rules and regulations highly adaptable for competition that would facilitate production and industrial affairs;

      8.Contribution to the formulation of different instructions regarding the issuance of operation licenses and examination of import and export permits or the issuance of permits which are legally binding within the authority of the Ministry in relation to industries;

      9.Cooperation and collaboration with the Institute of Standard and Industrial Research of Iran and other relevant organs for formulating or revising necessary standards (in terms of quality, environment, health and management);

      10. Contribution to necessary studies and surveys for efficient use of energy resources, reducing waste and offering approaches to units for the recycle of wastes;

      11. Paying regular visits in order to identify and explore the issues and problems of production units and reporting to relevant bodies if necessary;

      12. Formulating and submitting specialized reports about different sectors of the industry in order to present a general image of the related industry and offering solutions for removing the obstacles in order to boost the competitive and exporting capacity of relevant industries;

      13. Collaboration and cooperation with industrial associations and organs for the formulation of industrial reconstruction and renovation plan (within the framework of the Comprehensive National Plan of Industrial Reconstruction and Renovation) and following up on their approval and implementation;

      14. Examination, study, identification and compilation of reports about the current conditions of industry in the country;

      15. Examining, determining and formulating major objectives and policies and making plans for the establishment and development of related industries in the country;

      16. Providing the proper ground for identifying relative and competitive advantages and formulating necessary policies for boosting the competitive power of related industries through introducing cutting-edge technologies;

      17.Providing necessary solutions on how to take advantage of industries related to Information Technology (IT);

      18. Conducting studies about offering software and hardware services and advanced technologies, and steering related industries to make use of them;

      19. Forming councils and coordination committees in related and advanced industries in order to make practical use of achievements and studies conducted in the field;

      20.Taking advantage of strategic support and technical guidance of industrialists for the operations of related industries;

      21. Continued studies for improving management in the related industries;

      22.Paving the way for holding seminars and exhibitions in order to familiarize industrialists with the latest achievements in the field;

      23. Enculturation of the development of design and engineering services and preparing the necessary ground for the development of similar cultures in other related industries;

      24.Conducting comparative studies and providing necessary solutions to introduce technological developments and coordinating domestic situation in Iran with developments related to cutting-edge technologies;

      25.Supervising the development trend of relevant industries in the country for the realization of policies and plans and long-term objectives of acquiring advanced industries;

      26. Formulating bills for removing bottlenecks and making amendments to ineffective laws in order to empower related industries in the country;

      27.Conducting necessary studies and surveys for formulating and proposing solutions for transfer, attraction and upgrading the productivity of related industries;

      28.Boosting the quality and standards of products and processes and making products competitive, attracting domestic and foreign investment in advanced industries and upgrading the level of management of aforementioned industries;

      29.Preparing instructions, periodicals and specialized reports on the regulation, and familiarity with modern phenomena ;

      30. Handling all other tasks assigned by the Office of Deputy Minister for Industries’ Affairs.

      This office comprises of the following groups:
